The Shotokai Egami-Ryu® Brasil is united to a major organization in Europe, the AKSER International, presided by William Schneider Sensei, graduated by Master Egami and a 5° Dan in the Egami-Ryu® School.
One can securely state that, in Brazil it is the very only one practice of Karate-Do that connects the studant directly to Master Gichin Funakoshi with no sport roots, because it comes from his successor, Master Egami. See Keizu>>
Our School teaches the Shotokai practice in a most complete fashion within the way taught by Master Egami. So the Shotokai in Brazil is being established where the transference tradition of knowledge from Master to disciple is maintained.
For all purposes, we practice the Shotokai Egami-Ryu® which is distinctive of a practice developed in the most traditional way as it was taught by Master Funakoshi and Master Egami where there is no “self-titulations” for the teaching of Karate Budo. Whoever teaches, does it by documental certification within the School which in turn has international recognition in the circles of several Masters in the Arts of Budo.
As to the Budo matter, we are much more distinctive and emphatics since we keep it as an intrinsic aspect of the Japanese culture, not giving way for occidental interpretations that mix Hellenic concepts of martiality for Karate, with Jutsu and with Bushido!. In terms, Bushido is the code of honor and the social behavior of the Samurai. Budo is the set of Japanese Arts of combat within the Way – a comprehension and a particular expression of Japan (Do) – for the perfecting of man. Jutsu are the techniques, the methods, etc.
A Budoka must know how to differentiate deeply among Jutsu, Bushido and Budo.
Due to its great covering and profundity, the Karatê-do Shotokai Egamiryu® requires years of practice and dedication, aimed to all who eager to practice the Art of Karate Budo in depth.

What´s a Martial Art?
In Japan, there is only: Way – “Do” (!) So, it does not matter whatever one speaks in terms of Japanese arts… We are speaking of one and same thing: "Do" (Mestre Deshimaru). This and other teachings can be found in the FAQ and Budo Area.
